Phikul Thong Temple

Located in Wihan Khao sub-district, commonly known by locals as Luang Por Pae Temple. Luang Por Pae Khemangkar or Phra Thep Singhaburacharn, was the head of the Sing Buri monastic division and passed away in 1999. He was instrumental in developing the religious sites within Phikul Thong Temple and promoting the study of Buddhist scriptures for monks and novices.

About this Place

Points of interest within the temple include: Luang Por Pae Museum, displaying the history and personal effects of Luang Por Pae from the past to the present. Additionally, there is one of the largest standing Buddha statues in Thailand. Phra Buddha Suwan Mongkhon Mahamuni, or Luang Por Yai, with a lap width of 11 wa, 2 sok, and 7 inches, and a height of 21 wa, 1 khuep, and 3 inches. The interior is reinforced concrete decorated with 24-karat pure gold mosaic. Surrounding the main viharn is a cloistered walkway housing Buddha images representing each day of the week and a large statue of Phra Sang Kajai. The temple grounds feature a Dharma garden and beautiful structures, set amidst a serene and pleasant atmosphere. There are also flower fields planted seasonally, such as sunflowers and cosmos in winter, red flowers around Valentine's Day, and various colored flowers in summer.
