เป็นโบราณสถานเก่าแก่ ที่โนนวัดป่านี้สันนิษฐานว่าเคยเป็นวัดเก่า ทั้งนี้เนื่องจากขุดพบพระพุทธรูปปางนาคปรกทำด้วยศิลา และมีร่องรอยโบราณสถานโบราณวัตถุอยู่รอบบริเวณนั้น ตามหลักฐานทางโบราณคดีสันนิษฐานได้ว่าเป็นโบราณสถานและโบราณวัตถุศิลปะขอมสมัยเรืองอำนาจ ข้อมูลเพื่อการเดินทางไปโนนวัดป่า โนนวัดป่า ตั้งอยู่ที่ตำบลโนนสัง ห่างจากจังหวัดหนองบัวลำภูตามทางหลวงหมายเลข 2146 สายหนองบัวลำภู-อำเภอโนนสัง ประมาณ 20 กิโลเมตร
