Nong Bua Lam Phu Textile College (Deva Pa-Thai) Na Kham Hai Weaving Group

Located in Na Kham Hai Subdistrict, it is one of the established learning centers for Nong Bua Lam Phu Textile College. It features both a weaving learning center and a shop selling textile products. Initially, the community members were already weaving textiles but lacked transportation to sell them. Mr. Kittipan, a community member, started taking community products to various trade fairs. Due to the interest received, he decided to register the Na Kham Hai Weaving Group with the Department of Community Development in 2014. They then began experimenting with new weaving loom techniques for both cotton and silk. The unique characteristic of the textiles here is that each piece of fabric has two different patterns on each side. One side features a raised floral pattern (lai yok dok), and the other side displays a tie-dye pattern (lai mat mee). The innovative technique that makes the fabric soft, smooth, and beautifully lustrous, unlike others, involves soaking the threads in the water used to rinse sticky rice of the 'Phua Long' variety, a sticky rice endemic to Nong Bua Lam Phu province, for about an hour.
