About this Place
เป็นหมู่บ้านประมงริมฝั่งทะเล เดิมชื่ออ่างหิน เนื่องจากมีแอ่งหินแกรนิตผสมหินทรายขนาดใหญ่ตั้งอยู่ภายในหมู่บ้าน ซึ่งชาวจีนแต้จิ๋วที่อพยพเข้ามาอยู่หลังสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ได้สกัดหินบริเวณนั้นออกมาทำเป็นโม่และครก จนมีการผลิตและส่งขายอย่างแพร่หลาย แต่ปัจจุบันมีการนำหินที่มีคุณภาพใกล้เคียงจากจังหวัดต่าง ๆ มาทดแทนหินจากอ่างศิลา บริเวณนี้ยังมีสะพานปลา ซึ่งเป็นแหล่งจำหน่ายอาหารทะเลสดที่มีชื่อเสียงอีกด้วย
