เป็นศาสนสถานของชุมชนภายในเมืองโบราณ ที่รู้จักกันในนามเมืองแพรกศรีราชาหรือเมืองสรรค์ ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ระหว่างอาณาจักรใหญ่ได้แก่ สุโขทัย อยุธยา และสุพรรณบุรี ในช่วงพุทธศตวรรษที่ 18-20 โบราณสถานวัดพระยาแพรกประกอบด้วยพระวิหาร และเจดีย์ประธานทรงกลมบนฐานแปดเหลี่ยม ประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปล้อมรอบพระเจดีย์ภายในกำแพงแก้ว ก่อสร้างด้วยอิฐสอดินฉาบปูนตกแต่ง ผิวภายนอกซึ่งได้รับอิทธิพลการก่อสร้างก่อนอยุธยา ในราวกลางพุทธศตวรรษที่ 20 และยังมีอายุใช้งานสืบต่อระยะหนึ่งก่อนการทิ้งร้างไปพร้อมกับเมือง ราวพุทธศตวรรษที่ 23 วัดพระยาแพรกตั้งอยู่ข้างกับวัดมหาธาตุ สรรคบุรี
