ตั้งอยู่ถนนจอมพล ใกล้กับศาลหลักเมืองนครราชสีมา มีชื่อเรียกกันว่า “วัดกลาง” หรือ “วัดกลางนคร” เป็นวัดเก่าแก่ที่สมเด็จพระนารายณ์มหาราชทรงเป็นผู้สร้างไว้ และยังเคยเป็นที่ตั้งอนุสาวรีย์บรรจุอัฐิของท้าวสุรนารี ก่อนที่จะย้ายไปตั้ง ณ ประตูชุมพลในปัจจุบัน
ภายในวัดมีสถาปัตยกรรมสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา ประกอบด้วย พระอุโบสถซึ่งตั้งอยู่เกาะกลางสระบัว พระวิหารหลวงและเทวรูปพระนารายณ์สี่กรจำหลักด้วยหินทรายฝีมือขอมโบราณ อันเป็นสัญลักษณ์ที่แสดงถึงพระนามของผู้สร้างวัด
