Ubon Ratchathani Zoo
About this Place
Located in Khong Yai Subdistrict, formerly known as Ubon Ratchathani Wildlife Park, under the supervision of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand. It is situated in the Dong Fa Huan National Forest Reserve. The zoo is designed as a Jungle Park, blending the zoo with the abundant forest within the area. Its objective is to be a research and breeding center for rare wildlife and for ecological restoration.
The zoo officially opened on July 12, 2013. Later, on March 26, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn bestowed the name "Ubon Ratchathani Zoo.".
The types of animals displayed include Thai deer species such as wild deer, barking deer, and sambar deer, as well as foreign deer species like blackbucks, chital, and barasingha. Other animals have been introduced to suit the zoo's environment, including predator groups: tigers, white tigers, white lions, and African lions; African savanna animals: giraffes, zebras, ostriches, nyalas, and elands; and small animals: red kangaroos, meerkats, binturongs, caimans, and penguins. Within the zoo, there are animal performances and feeding activities, such as with tigers and sun conures.
Open Daily from 08:30 - 16:30.
Admission Fees: Thai citizens: Adults 130 Baht, Children 40 Baht. Foreigners: Adults 350 Baht, Children 120 Baht. Children under 3 years old, seniors 60 years and above, disabled persons, veterans, monks, and novices are admitted free of charge.
Tram Tour Fees: Adults 25 Baht, Children 100 Baht, and golf carts 200 Baht per hour.
