Somdet Phra Phutthachan (To Phrommarangsi) Memorial Park

History & Significance

The Somdet Phra Phutthachan (To Phrommarangsi) Memorial Park was established and is managed by the Somdet Phra Phutthachan (To Phrommarangsi) Metta Barami Foundation. The construction of this sacred site was completed on April 1, 2000. It was built to honor Somdet To, one of the most revered Buddhist monks in Thai history, providing a spacious and peaceful place for Buddhists to pay their respects and practice merit-making.

Highlights & What to See

The main highlight of the park is the grand Viharn Luang Pho To, an exquisite pavilion built in the traditional Kudakhan style, characterized by its elegant spired roof. Inside the viharn, visitors can pay homage to the colossal cast statue of Somdet Phra Phutthachan (To Phrommarangsi). This impressive statue measures 8 meters and 1 inch wide at the lap, stands 13 meters tall, and weighs approximately 61 tons. The surrounding grounds are meticulously landscaped with beautiful rock gardens and lush green pocket parks, creating a refreshing and scenic atmosphere perfect for relaxation and photography.

Visitor Information

The memorial park is open daily to the public from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. Visitors are advised to dress respectfully when entering the sacred viharn to show respect to the highly revered monk statue.

How to Get There

The park is conveniently located right next to Highway 2 (Mitrapap Road) on the inbound side heading towards Nakhon Ratchasima city. It serves as an excellent and easily accessible stop for travelers driving into the province.
