Monument of Phraya Surin Phakdi Sri Narong Chang Wang (Pum)
Located on the side of Surin-Prasat Road, Na Mueang Subdistrict, it was built as a memorial to the first city founder, who is a very important person in the history of Surin city.
About this Place
The monument is a blacked bronze statue, 2.2 meters high, with swords on his back, signifying his warrior spirit and bravery. His right hand holds a 'khao' (a type of sword or spear, often associated with elephant riding), demonstrating his skill in commanding war elephants and indicating that Surin has been an elephant city since ancient times. The monument was officially opened on April 13, 1985.
