Mae Puem National Park

Mae Puem National Park covers an area of approximately 350.83 square kilometers, spanning across Chiang Rai and Phayao provinces. The landscape is predominantly steep mountains and is the origin of the Mae Kaeo and Mae Puem rivers, which flow into the Ing River and subsequently into Kwan Phayao. The park boasts abundant forests, providing a habitat for various wildlife species. It was officially established as a national park on December 25, 2009.

Points of interest within the park include:

Mae Puem Reservoir, located near the park headquarters, offers beautiful scenery and is the largest reservoir in Phayao province, covering an area of 8.16 square kilometers. It is surrounded by lush forests and features a campsite along its banks, close to the visitor center. Morning mists often shroud the reservoir, creating a picturesque view. Between December and January each year, a large number of waterfowls migrate to inhabit the Mae Puem Reservoir area.

Additionally, interesting activities include kayaking to admire the reservoir's surroundings, cycling, bird watching, walking along the "Satisfied Bridge Skywalk View", and exploring the "Sleeping Tiger" nature trail, which is approximately 800 meters long. The trail is well-marked with informative signs, allowing visitors to explore independently.

Park entrance fees are 20 Baht for Thai adults and 10 Baht for children; for foreigners, it is 100 Baht for adults and 50 Baht for children.

Accommodation and facilities include park houses, camping sites, and a welfare shop available for visitors.
