About this Place
"Loei Dan" is located at Ban Huai Kapo, Lak Dan Subdistrict. It is a natural wondrous stone courtyard, a geological learning resource for Phetchabun Province. It is a large sandstone courtyard formed by the erosion of sand grains and gravel carried by the flow of the Loei River through this stone courtyard area, resulting in numerous small and large holes. Experts call this type of sandstone erosion "Potholes". Five types of erosion can be observed: circular, oval, cylindrical pillars, stone bridges, and lateral erosion. The best time to visit is from April to May, when the beauty of the stone courtyard can be clearly seen.
