เป็นภูเขา 2 ลูกที่อยู่ใกล้กัน อยู่ห่างจากตัวอำเภอหัวหินไปทางทิศใต้ประมาณ 14 กิโลเมตร มีทางแยกซ้ายมือจากถนนเพชรเกษมที่กิโลเมตร 235 เข้าไปประมาณ 500 เมตร จากตลาดหัวหินมีรถโดยสารวิ่งระหว่างหัวหิน-เขาไกรลาส-เขาตะเกียบ

เพราะเป็นภูเขาสองลูกคู่ขนานกันและมีโขดหินสวยงามยื่นยาวออกไปในทะเล ที่นี่จึงได้ชื่อว่า เขาตะเกียบ โดยเป็นเขาที่ต่อเนื่องมาจากชายหาดหัวหิน และบริเวณเชิงเขาตะเกียบทางด้านเหนือนั้นคือที่ประดิษฐาน พระพุทธรูปปางห้ามสมุทรองค์ใหญ่หันหน้าออกสู่ทะเล ส่วนเขาตะเกียบทางทิศใต้นั้นเชื่อมต่อกับหาด สวนสนประดิพัทธ์ ซึ่งมีบรรยากาศค่อนข้างเงียบสงบและเป็นส่วนตัว สำหรับบนยอดเขาตะเกียบคือที่ตั้ง ของวัดเขาตะเกียบซึ่งเป็นที่ประดิษฐานพระเขี้ยวแก้ว และเป็นจุดสำหรับชมวิวชายทะเลหัวหิน ที่สวยงามน่าประทับใจอีกแห่งหนึ่ง เปิดให้เข้าชมทุกวันตั้งแต่เวลา 6.00-18.00น.
