Wat Phra Thong (Wat Phra Phut)

Located on Thepkasattri Road, Thepkasattri Subdistrict, the temple houses the Phra Phut, a shimmering golden Buddha statue emerging from the ground only halfway. It is highly revered by the local Buddhist community. Additionally, the Wat Phra Thong Museum collects artifacts from early Phuket settlers, such as the "jang chui," a durable raincoat ideal for tin mining work, and the traditional Chinese-Thai women's "teen tuk" shoes, worn by women who bound their feet to conform to societal beauty standards of the time.
