The main highlight of Wat Khao Tham Phrathun is the magnificent wooden root ordination hall (Phra Ubosot Rak Mai). This extraordinary structure showcases masterfully carved roots and trunks from precious trees, including Takian Thong (Hopea odorata) roots, Teak, Makha, Padauk, and Kankrao roots. The wood is intricately carved into sacred images and deities, such as the Lord Buddha, Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy), Phra Sivali, Phra Sangkachai, Ganesha, Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, and famous monk masters. Visitors can also admire other exquisite wood carvings, including a Golden Dragon, a Silver Dragon, and the mythical Hatsadiling bird.

For those seeking adventure and spiritual merit, there is a 700-step concrete staircase leading to the summit of the hill. At the top, you can pay respect to the sacred Buddha's footprint and enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Visitor Information

Wat Khao Tham Phrathun is open daily to visitors from 08:00 to 18:00. Admission is free of charge. Visitors are advised to dress respectfully, covering shoulders and knees, as it is an active place of worship.

The temple is located in Thap Luang Subdistrict, Ban Rai District, Uthai Thani Province. It is situated at latitude 15.01814000 and longitude 99.64021000. Visitors can travel by private car or local transport to Ban Rai District to reach the temple.
