ประเทศไทยได้แหล่งอุทยานธรณีโลกแห่งแรกโดยการประกาศจาก UNSECO คืออุทยานธรณีสตูล โดย "อุทยานธรณีสตูล"(Satun Geopark) ตั้งอยู่ทางภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย ครอบคลุม 4 อำเภอของจังหวัดสตูล คือ ทุ่งหว้า มะนัง ละงู และอำเภอเมือง ลักษณะภูมิประเทศเป็นเทือกเขาหินปูน มีเกาะน้อยใหญ่ และชายหาดที่สวยงาม มีสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวเด่น ๆ ได้แก่ ถ้ำเลสเตโกดอน ถ้ำภูผาเพชร ถ้ำเจ็ดคต เขาทะนาน ปราสาทหินพันยอด เกาะไข่ เกาะหินงาม น้ำตกธารปลิว น้ำตกธารสวรรค์ น้ำตกวังสายทอง ถ้ำอุไรทอง
