Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Herbal Garden

History & Significance

The Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Herbal Garden was established and presented to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn by PTT Public Company Limited on the auspicious occasion of her 50th birthday. Spanning an area of 60 rai in Rayong Province, the garden was created under the concept of providing a fun and interactive learning dimension for herbal sciences, preserving traditional Thai botanical knowledge for future generations.

Highlights & What to See

The garden is divided into two main educational sections:

• The 50th Birthday Celebration Building: Features indoor exhibitions detailing the history and importance of herbal medicine.
• The Herbal Garden: A vast outdoor area collecting more than 20,000 herbal plants across 260 species. These plants are categorized into 20 distinct groups based on their therapeutic properties as described in ancient Thai medical textbooks, such as herbs for skin diseases, heart tonics, blood tonics, fever remedies, detoxifying agents, and energy boosters.

Visitors can enjoy a comfortable tram service that tours around the garden, accompanied by an informative guide who explains the unique properties of the various herbal plants.

Visitor Information

The garden is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 16:30 (closed on Mondays). Admission is free. For group visits, it is recommended to submit a written request in advance to the Public Relations Department of the Herbal Garden Project. Facilities include parking and restrooms.
