Namtok Heo Noi (Heo Noi Waterfall)

History & Significance

Namtok Heo Noi is located within Khao Yai National Park, which was established on September 18, 1962, as Thailand's first national park. It was later designated as an ASEAN Heritage Park and a UNESCO World Heritage site under the 'Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex'. The area around the waterfall is historically significant as part of the vast forest once known as 'Dong Phaya Fai' (later renamed 'Dong Phaya Yen' by King Chulalongkorn). The waterfall itself serves as a vital headwater feeding into Muak Lek Waterfall and Chet Sao Noi Waterfall.

A unique highlight of this location is the narrow stream near the waterfall, which acts as a natural boundary between Saraburi and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces, measuring only a few meters wide. From Heo Noi Waterfall, adventurers can hike further to discover Heo Rang Waterfall and Pong Ta Long Waterfall, both of which are high waterfalls situated within Khao Yai National Park. The area is ideal for scenic viewing, nature walks, and forest trekking.

Visitor Information

How to Get There

Namtok Heo Noi is located at Ban Muak Lek Nai in the Saraburi province side of Khao Yai National Park. Visitors can access the site via local routes leading to the Muak Lek area.
