Khun Korn Waterfall (Namtok Khun Korn)

History & Significance

Khun Korn Waterfall is located within Lam Nam Kok National Park in Chiang Rai Province. Originally managed as Khun Korn Waterfall Forest Park, the area was surveyed starting in 2001 and integrated into the national park to preserve its rich forest and natural water sources, including the Mae Korn Stream.

Highlights & What to See

The main highlight is Khun Korn Waterfall, which cascades down from a height of 70 meters on Doi Chang. The trail leading to the waterfall spans 1,400 meters (about a 30-minute walk) through a lush and shady forest atmosphere. Near the visitor center at Protection Unit 1, visitors can find a campsite and restroom facilities surrounded by peaceful nature.

Visitor Information

Khun Korn Waterfall is open daily from 08:30 to 16:30. Entry is free. Key details for visitors include:

• Facilities: Parking, restrooms, and a campsite are available at the visitor center.
• Notice: There is no electricity at the campsite area. If you wish to rent camping equipment, you must contact the national park office in advance.

How to Get There

The waterfall is located on Doi Chang in Mae Korn Sub-district, Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai. Visitors travel to Protection Unit 1 of Lam Nam Kok National Park and then walk 1,400 meters along the designated forest trail to reach the waterfall base.
