是宋卡湖下游中的一个岛屿，大部分地区是山坡和山麓平原。岛上居民大部分以在宋卡湖捕鱼为生。阁遥岛还是宋卡湖著名的网箱养鱼区。岛上还有一种“Som Rom”式的水果园，意指水果全年轮流结果，例如：橙子、椰子、菠萝蜜和占巴达。占巴达是阁遥岛的著名水果，外形类似菠萝蜜，但个头较小，可以像炸香蕉一样炸着吃，或者直接生吃。
此外，还有一个阁遥岛织布小组，生产著名的土布，其织物图案独特，如：拉差瓦特图案、皮格图案、菲尤姆花图案等。
