พื้นที่จังหวัดตราดมีสภาพป่าไม้ที่สมบูรณ์ ทำให้มีฝูงเหยี่ยวแดงมาอาศัยอยู่เป็นจำนวนมาก โดยเฉพาะที่ตำบลหนองคันทรง ซึ่งเป็นที่ตั้งของร้านอาหารคนพลัดถิ่น ช่วงเวลาเที่ยงวันทางร้านจะนำหมูบดมาให้อาหารปลาที่เลี้ยงไว้ในบ่อ เมื่อเหยี่ยวแดงเห็นเหยื่อที่ลอยอยู่บนผิวน้ำจึงบินลงมาโฉบแย่งอาหารปลาไปกิน และช่วงเย็นสามารถชมเหยี่ยวได้ 2 ที่ คือ ร้านอาหารทิวธารา ตำบลหนองโสน และร้านอาหารริมทะเลซีฟู้ด ตำบลแหลมงอบ ทำให้นักท่องเที่ยวสามารถชมเหยี่ยวแดงนับร้อยตัวได้อย่างใกล้ชิด
