Ban Pha Mee is an ethnic Akha community located in the Wiang Phang Kham Subdistrict of Chiang Rai Province. The village is situated on a high mountain peak surrounded by lush, abundant forests. Historically, this mountainous area was home to a large population of Asiatic black bears, which inspired the village's name, 'Pha Mee' (meaning Bear Cliff in Thai). Today, the villagers primarily earn their living through agriculture, specializing in the cultivation of high-quality coffee, lychees, and macadamia nuts.
