Baan Suk Somboon Community (Baan Huai Khamin)

History & Significance

Baan Suk Somboon Community was originally called Baan Huai Khamin. In 1986, the provincial governor renamed the village Baan Suk Somboon, which signifies completeness and abundance, reflecting the residents' successful diversity in livelihoods—ranging from corn and chrysanthemum farming to shiitake mushroom and fruit cultivation. In 2006, community members established the Baan Suk Somboon Mun River Headwaters Conservation Homestay Group to manage local eco-tourism and agricultural travel experiences.

Highlights & What to See

Visitors can take part in various hands-on agricultural and culinary activities organized by the community group, including planting organic vegetables, making mushroom fermented sausage (Naem Het), and crafting salted eggs. The village is surrounded by agricultural plots such as shiitake mushroom farms and fruit orchards, offering travelers a chance to sample fresh local dishes made with homegrown ingredients.

Visitor Information

The community is open daily from 07:00 to 18:00. Entry to the community area is free of charge, while homestay accommodations and organized workshop activities can be inquired about by calling 093-372-3122.

Baan Suk Somboon is situated in Thai Samakchi Subdistrict, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, located right next to Thap Lan National Park.
