Wat Don Kaeo is a peaceful and sacred temple located in Mae Ramat District, Tak Province. It is renowned for housing a magnificent Burmese-style marble Buddha image brought all the way from Yangon, Myanmar. This exquisite statue is one of only three identical masterpieces crafted, with the other two residing in Pakistan and India.

The crown jewel of Wat Don Kaeo is its revered marble Buddha statue (Phra Buddharup Hin On), enshrined gracefully inside the main wihan. Carved by skilled Myanmar artisans in Yangon, the statue measures 50 inches across the lap and 63 inches in height. What makes it truly extraordinary is its rare provenance—it is one of a set of three carved around the same era, with the first enshrined in Pakistan, the second in India, and the third right here in Tak Province, Thailand.
