Located at 94 Moo 3, within the Fine Arts Department, Silpakorn University, Phutthamonthon Sai 5 Road, Salaya, this is a learning center about film, collecting information and artifacts from Thailand's film industry from the past to the present for interested individuals to study and learn. Inside the building, there is a replica film studio showcasing the history and production process of Thai films, props, and wax figures of important personalities in Thai cinema, including actors and filmmakers, such as the figure of 'Mitr Chaibancha,' a famous former actor, and the desk of 'Payut Ngaokrachang,' the creator of the first Thai animated film, 'Sudsakorn'.
Interesting attractions at the Film Archive include:
- Thai Film Museum: A place that collects the history of Thai cinema, with three exhibitions: 'One Century of Thai Cinema,' 'Hall of Fame,' and 'Film Production Process.' Open for free viewing. Tuesday-Friday, 4 showtimes: 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM. Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, 6 showtimes: 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM.
- Library: A research center for film, gathering knowledge about films published in books, journals, magazines, theses, academic documents, posters, and other print materials from both Thailand and abroad, including newsreels, documentaries, and tens of thousands of Thai films available in VOD system. Open Tuesday-Friday, 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM (closed every Monday).
- Maya City: A miniature city of important historical locations in Thai and world cinema through semi-permanent outdoor exhibitions. Tourists can admire the beauty and realism of the foreground scenes, as well as learn and experience the behind-the-scenes work of set construction, which is a crucial aspect of filmmaking. Inside, there are displays about historical events such as the recreation of the first film screening in the world at Grand Café and Salon Indien, film screenings at the Nickel-odeon, the world's first cinema, viewing films in a Kinetoscope Polar peep show, and sculptures of important figures in cinema. Open Tuesday-Sunday, 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
- Sri Salaya Cinema: A 121-seat cinema that screens films collected by the Film Archive and acquired from around the world. Open Tuesday-Sunday at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM. No admission fee, except for the costume photo activity in the replica drama scene, which costs 100 baht per activity.
