เนินปราสาทพระร่วง ตั้งอยู่ทางทิศตะวันออกติดกับวัดมหาธาตุ พระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงสันนิษฐานว่า บริเวณนี้เคยเป็นฐานปราสาทราชวังของกษัตริย์เมืองสุโขทัย จากนั้นกรมศิลปากรได้เข้ามาทำการขุดแต่งบูรณะ เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2526 พบฐานอาคารแบบฐานบัวคว่ำและบัวหงายมีลักษณะเป็นฐานสูงรูปสี่เหลี่ยมผืนผ้า ขนาด 27.50 x 51.50 เมตร มีบันไดที่ด้านหน้าและด้านหลัง
