Wat Sakla (Wat Sakla Prachauthit)

このアトラクションについて

Located in Moo 19, Na Kluea Subdistrict, this temple serves as the spiritual center for the people of Sakla, a community situated at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River since 1782 AD. Devotees from all directions travel here to pay homage to the ancient Buddha statue, Luang Por To, a venerable Buddha image deeply revered by the villagers. Artifacts excavated within the temple grounds include Buddha images in the gestures of granting boons and repelling fear, depicted back-to-back, stone Buddha images, ancient boundary stones, and a leaning chedi, which has subsided due to land subsidence, becoming a prominent symbol of this temple. Significant Event: In the past, a major fire broke out in the village on January 6, 1983. Villagers attempted to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful. At that time, fishermen reported a miracle: they witnessed Luang Por To standing and fanning the flames with his robe, causing the fire to gradually subside. The next morning, villagers flocked to the temple and saw that the entire body of Luang Por To was blackened with soot. Therefore, the villagers collectively make merit for Luang Por To every year on January 6th.
