ตามรอยขุนแผนสู่วัดถ้ำที่ตั้งอยู่บนภูเขาสูงที่ชาวบ้านละแวกนั้นเรียกกันว่า "ถ้ำพุพระหรือถ้ำขุนแผน" ทั้งนี้ตามตำนานเล่าว่าขุนแผนได้เคยมาฝึกวิชาอาคมคาถาต่าง ๆ ภายในถ้ำแห่งนี้ อีกทั้งยังเป็นสถานที่ที่ใช้ประกอบพิธีย่างกุมาร สร้างดาบฟ้าฟื้น โดยมีพระอาจารย์บุญจากวัดส้มใหญ่คอยชี้แนะ นอกจากนี้ไม่ไกลกันนักจากวัดถ้ำพุทธาวาส ยังมีสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวใกล้เคียงที่น่าสนใจหลายแห่ง อาทิเช่น น้ำตกไทรโยคน้อย ถ้ำวังบาดาล เป็นต้น
