วัดพระพายหลวง เป็นโบราณสถานขนาดใหญ่ที่มีความสำคัญรองจากวัดมหาธาตุ ผังวัดเป็นรูปสี่เหลี่ยมผืนผ้า มีคูน้ำล้อมรอบ 3 ชั้น คูชั้นนอกเรียกว่า คูแม่โจน วัดพระพายหลวงเป็นศูนย์กลางของชุมชน มีโบราณสถานที่เก่าแก่ที่สำคัญ คือ พระปรางค์ 3 องค์ เป็นปรางค์ประธาน ก่อด้วยศิลาแลง ศิลปะเขมรแบบบายน สมัยพระเจ้าชัยวรมันที่ 7 ด้านหน้าของวัดเป็นอาคารประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปปูนปั้น สี่อิริยาบถ คือ นั่ง นอน ยืน และเดิน โดยเฉพาะพระพุทธรูปเดินหรือลีลา เป็นลักษณะพิเศษที่นิยมสร้างในงานศิลปกรรมของสุโขทัย
