วัดป่าไม้แดง หรืออีกชื่อหนึ่งว่า "วัดพระเจ้าพรหมมหาราช" ตั้งอยู่ในอำเภอไชยปราการ อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองเชียงใหม่ 130 กิโลเมตร บริเวณวัดมีเนื้อที่ 49 ไร่ ทราบจากตำนานว่าสร้างขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 1599 ในสมัยพระเจ้าพรหมมหาราช พระมหากษัตริย์ผู้ทรงสถาปนาสร้างเมืองไชยปราการ ทางวัดจึงได้สร้าง พระบรมราชานุสาวรีย์พระเจ้าพรหมมหาราชขึ้นเป็นอนุสรณ์สถานแด่พระเจ้าพรหมมหาราช เพื่อเทิดพระเกียรติแด่วีรกษัตริย์ผู้ยิ่งใหญ่
