ความคลาสสิกของวัดนครชุม ไม่เพียงเป็นวัดเก่าแก่อายุราว 800 ปีที่สร้างในสมัยสุโขทัยเท่านั้น หากด้านตะวันออกยังมีพระอุโบสถเก่าดูน่าเกรงขาม อุโบสถหลังนี้ก่อสร้างด้วยอิฐฉาบปูน เครื่องบนเป็นไม้โดยใช้สลักไม้แทนตะปู มีช่องระบายลมแทนหน้าต่าง ปัจจุบันใช้ประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปโบราณ มีพุทธลักษณะแบบสุโขทัยซึ่งเคยใช้เป็นประธานในพิธีถือน้ำพระพิพัฒน์สัตยาสมัยก่อน
