อนุสาวรีย์แห่งนี้สร้างขึ้นเพื่อเป็นการรำลึกถึงคุณความดีและวีรกรรมของผู้กล้าหาญอันประกอบด้วยตำรวจยุวชนทหารที่ 52 โรงเรียนศรียาภัยและกองพันทหารที่ 38 ที่ได้ทำการสู้รบกับทหารญี่ปุ่นซึ่งเข้ามารุกรานเข้ามาในประเทศไทย เมื่อครั้งสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ในปี พ.ศ. 2484
