Pit No. 1 features the world's longest recorded petrified log, originally measuring 72.2 meters in length.

Higher up the mountain lies Doi Soi Malai, often dubbed the 'Roof of Tak.' Standing at 1,664 meters above sea level, the mountain is covered in high-altitude pine forests and provides panoramic views over the vast Bhumibol Dam reservoir. Lucky hikers might even spot the rare pink salamander (crocodile newt), an ancient primitive amphibian species endemic to high-elevation forest ecosystems.
