บ้านเปียงหลวงอยู่ติดชายแดนไทย-พม่า มีด่าน ''ช่องหลักแต่ง'' เป็นด่านชั่วคราวที่เปิดการค้าขายชายแดนในระดับท้องถิ่น ในยามเหตุการณ์สงบด่านจะเปิดให้ชาวบ้านในละแวกมาค้าขายกันได้ ชาวบ้านในตำบลนี้เป็นจีนฮ่อและไทยใหญ่ โดยชาวจีนฮ่อนั้นอพยพเข้ามาในสมัยเจียงไคเช็คเป็นประธานประเทศ แต่ก็ยังไม่ละทิ้งวัฒนธรรมเดิม ทุกคนจะเรียนภาษาจีนเพิ่มเติมตอนเย็นโดยได้รับเงินสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาลไต้หวัน
