เชิงเขาภูเก้าด้านทิศตะวันออก เป็นแหล่งขุดค้นพบโบราณวัตถุสมัยก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ ได้แก่ ภาชนะเครื่องปั้นดินเผาคล้ายกับวัฒนธรรมบ้านเชียง โครงกระดูกมนุษย์ กำไลสำริด กำไลหิน ลูกปัดแก้ว แม่พิมพ์ทำจากหินทรายสำหรับใช้หล่อหัวขวานสำริด เครื่องมือเหล็ก เป็นต้น โบราณวัตถุต่าง ๆ บางส่วนได้นำไปเก็บไว้ที่พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติขอนแก่น นอกจากนี้ในบริเวณหมู่บ้านยังได้สร้างอาคารพิพิธภัณฑ์เพื่อจัดแสดงวัตถุโบราณบางส่วนอีกด้วย
