บ้านหนองแสง เป็นอ่างเก็บน้ำคันดินที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในภาคอีสาน มีทิวทัศน์ที่สวยงาม มีปลาบู่ชุกชุม และองค์การบริหาส่วนตำบลเขวาไร่ ได้จัดสถานที่ดังกล่าวให้เป็นเหล่งท่องเที่ยวมีชื่อว่า "พัทยานาเชือก 1 และพัทยานาเชือก 2" การเดินทาง ห่างจากตัวเมืองไปตามทางหลวงหมายเลข 23 สายมหาสารคาม-บรบือ ระยะทาง 25 กิโลเมตร แล้วต่อด้วยทางหลวงหมายเลข 219 สายบรบือ-นาเชือก อีกประมาณ 35 กิโลเมตร บริเวณกิโลเมตรที่ 29 ด้านขวามือจะเห็นป้ายพัทยานาเชือก 1 ถัดไปคือพัทยานาเชือก 2
