The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, through the TAT, is organizing an event to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, under the concept "Following the Footsteps of the Royal Mother Amidst the Starlight Forest." This event creatively showcases her royal initiatives in inspirational locations, blending nature with contemporaneity through experiences in art, handicrafts, and music across 4 main areas: Phayao, Tak, Mae Hong Son, and Phuket. The aim is to promote travel to primary and attractive secondary cities, develop creative and sustainable event management potential, and distribute economic income during the tourism season.
The TAT is extending the project of commemorating Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother through the "Following the Footsteps of the Royal Mother Amidst the Starlight Forest" activities. Four areas, which Her Majesty has previously visited, have been selected for their value and inspiration. These locations will be transformed into creative activities linking nature with contemporary art and culture, featuring art, handicrafts, and music to stimulate domestic tourism, alongside sustainable area development and income distribution during the tourism season, aligning with the government's policy to promote domestic travel.
The events in all 4 locations are scheduled as follows: January 10, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM, at Chun District Office, Chun District, Phayao Province; January 17, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM, at Wisdom Field, Mae Ramat District, Tak Province; January 24, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM, at Nong Jom Kam Public Park, Mueang District, Mae Hong Son Province; and January 31, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 12:30 AM, at Bang Niao Dam, Thalang District, Phuket Province. Each event will offer enjoyment across 4 main zones: Art Zone: "Inspirational Nature" zone featuring forest art and beautiful illuminated trees for tourists to take memorable photos; Craft Zone: "Continuing Thai Handicrafts" zone showcasing the royal initiatives of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother and selling local handicrafts; Green Market: "Happy Forest Market" zone featuring a market selling local agricultural products and various food menus; Movie & Music Zone: "Sounds of the Forest" zone with mini-concerts by famous artists such as Wan Thanakrit, The Parkinson, No One Else, Pop Pongkool, and Fellow Fellow, along with an outdoor screening of the movie "A Gift for Mom" amidst beautiful nature.
This event series not only commemorates Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother but also promotes travel to primary and attractive secondary cities, develops creative and sustainable event management potential, and distributes economic income during the tourism season, in line with the government's policy to stimulate domestic travel in late 2025 and continuing into 2026.
