Wat Thung Saliam (Luang Por Sila)
Originally enshrined in Tham Chao Ram in the deep forest within the border of Ban Dan Lan Hoi District. Later, the people of Thung Saliam District invited it to be enshrined at Wat Thung Saliam around 2472-2475 B.E.
About this Place
This Phra Buddha Naga Prok (Buddha protected by Naga) image is highly revered by the people of Sukhothai. It was originally enshrined in Tham Chao Ram in the deep forest. Later, villagers invited it to Wat Thung Saliam. Its distinctive feature is the cloth-like pedestal supporting the Buddha image, with deeply carved "Chao Chan" (star-shaped) patterns, unlike most Buddha images with ordinary etched lines. Furthermore, it is a Buddha image carved from grey sandstone. The forehead band has a vertical line in the middle, indicating it was made in Thailand, likely around 2472 B.E.
