Historical Significance: Phraya Ratsadanupradit, born Koh Sim Bee Na Ranong, was the youngest son of Phraya Damrong Sucharit Mahisornpakdee (Koh Su Jiang Na Ranong), a Hokkien Chinese immigrant. He rose to prominence as a Thai official, notably serving as the governor of Trang.
Economic Pioneer: During his governorship in Trang, he transformed the province into a thriving agricultural hub. He was instrumental in introducing rubber and coffee cultivation to southern Thailand, establishing them as key economic crops that continue to benefit the country today.
Administrative Leadership: Later, he served as the High Commissioner (Samuhathesaphiban) of Monthon Phuket, overseeing a vast region including Phuket, Trang, Krabi, Phang Nga, Takua Pa, Ranong, and Satun. Despite being offered positions such as Minister of Agriculture and Privy Councilor by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), he humbly chose to remain as the High Commissioner of Monthon Phuket.
Royal Recognition: His dedication and unwavering commitment earned him exceptional royal favor, including the special permission to carry a sword in the presence of King Rama VI, a testament to their close relationship.
