อนุสาวรีย์เจ้าพ่อพญาปาด พญาปาดเป็นผู้สร้างเมืองน้ำปาด เมืองฟากท่า ซึ่งในปัจจุบันคืออำเภอน้ำปาดและอำเภอฟากท่า มีเรื่องเล่าสืบต่อกันมาว่า ท่านพญาปาดเป็นคนลาวอาศัยอยู่ที่เวียงจันทน์ ภายหลังได้ชักชวนพลเมืองเวียงจันทน์ และบริเวณใกล้เคียงอพยพมุ่งหน้ามาทางทิศตะวันตกของเวียงจันทน์และได้เข้ามาตั้งถิ่นฐานขึ้นใหม่ที่ริมฝั่งแม่น้ำบ้านสองคอน (อำเภอฟากท่า) ต่อมาพญาปาดได้สร้างเมืองขึ้นมาใหม่อีกที่ตำบลบ้านฝาย (อำเภอน้ำปาด) ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำเหมือนกัน แม่น้ำนั้นต่อมาได้ชื่อว่า แม่น้ำปาดตามชื่อของพญาปาดในเดือนมีนาคมของทุกปี มีการจัดงานบวงสรวงเจ้าพ่อพญาปาด เทศกาลหอม-กระเทียม และของดีอำเภอน้ำปาด
