ตัวน้ำตกมีต้นกำเนิดมาจากลำน้ำหุย มีทั้งหมด 6 ชั้น ลักษณะเป็นชั้นหิน สลับซับซ้อนลดหลั่นเป็นชั้น ๆ มีน้ำไหลตลอดทั้งปี น้ำตกชั้นที่ 1 ถึง ชั้นที่ 6 มีชื่อเรียกดังนี้ ตาดม่าน ผาคันไถ ผาหัวช้าง ผาจ้อม ตาดลิง และ ตาดหมอก (ห้วยหก)[2] ตามลำดับ บริเวณชั้นที่ 1 สูงประมาณ 30 เมตร มีแอ่งน้ำขนาดใหญ่ที่เหมาะแก่การเล่นน้ำ ส่วนชั้นที่ 2 มีความสูงประมาณ 50 เมตร โอบล้อมไปด้วยบรรยากาศของผืนป่าดงดิบแล้งที่มีสภาพป่าไม้ยังคงความอุดมสมบูรณ์ ตัวน้ำตกห่างจากตัวอำเภอประมาณ 11 กิโลเมตร
