Kra Isthmus (Kiu Kra)

Located at Thap Li village, Mamu Subdistrict, along Highway No. 4 on the route towards Chumphon Province. This area is the narrowest part of the Malay Peninsula, with a width of approximately 50 kilometers from the west coast to the east coast. The part within the Kingdom of Thailand's territory on the eastern side is only 9 kilometers wide. The western part of the Kra Isthmus falls under the administration of Myeik, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. At the Kra Isthmus, there is a large concrete slab, a replica of a map, indicating the location of the Kra Isthmus. This is a popular spot for tourists to take souvenir photos. This replica map slab is located only 100 meters from the Kraburi River, the natural border between Thailand and Myanmar. Therefore, this place also offers beautiful scenery of the Kraburi River.
