Koh Yo

It is an island located in the lower Songkhla Lake. Most of the area consists of hillsides and plains at the foot of the mountains. Most of the islanders make a living by fishing in Songkhla Lake. Koh Yo is also a famous area for cage-cultured fish in Songkhla Lake. On the island, there is fruit cultivation in a "Som Rom" style, meaning the fruits take turns producing throughout the year. Examples include pomelo, coconut, jackfruit, and "Champa Da," a famous fruit of Koh Yo that resembles jackfruit but is smaller. It can be fried like krong krang or eaten fresh. Additionally, there is the Koh Yo Weaving Group, famous for its local textiles with unique patterns such as Ratchawat, Dok Phikul, and Dok Phayom, among others. You can take a boat trip around Koh Yo to admire the scenery, observe traditional fishing methods, and enjoy the atmosphere of the lake, especially during sunset. The island offers several homestays and restaurants.
